The notebook and pencil that pay homage to Keith Haring

Limited Edition

IT IS NOTABLE FOR:

  • Keith Haring was one of the most recognized young artists, filmmakers, and performers whose work dialogued with the urban culture of the 1980s. Inspired by the graffiti artists who covered the city's subway cars, Haring began to draw with white chalk on the black paper used to cover empty advertising panels. It features a raised polyhedron design inspired by gaming dice and comes with a firm graphite.
  • As early as 1980, Haring began to exhibit in galleries and museums around the world but continued to participate in public projects, creating murals, sculptures, and paintings to raise funds for hospitals, underprivileged children's groups, and various community health organizations.
  • When he opened his Pop Shop at 292 Lafayette Street, he conceived it as a physical extension of his work, a place where everyone was welcome to experience his art. He believed in using commercial projects like the Pop Shop to reach people who might otherwise never come into contact with his message, a legacy that endures today in this pencil box.
  • Volume 292 is a tribute to Keith Haring. The notebook offers 160 pages of 100 gsm and a pencil. Each pencil features Haring's dancing figures and a balanced graphite.

ARTISTIC STYLE FOR TRUE CONNOISSEURS

Blackwing pencils were originally introduced by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company in the 1930s. Its cult followers included John Steinbeck, Vladimir Nabokov, Truman Capote, and Chuck Jones, who proudly used the Blackwing 602 to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters. He declared that a pen is full of ink, but the Blackwing is full of ideas. In 2010, Palomino released the re-edition of the mythical pencils that disappeared in 1990.
